Make no mistake: Trauma is coming for us all.

The COVID-19 pandemic changed our lives: it was a global collective trauma. We had to ‘stay home’ so we did what we could to cope… We got creative.

We baked bread, we knitted, we held trivia nights on Zoom. Heck, some of us even turned that side hustle into a business!

So while it was a devastating experience, it also yielded huge positive side effects, too. And we’re only JUST beginning to process and understanding its impact.

But for so long, the conversation surrounding trauma has been a negative one. Yes, treatment for those in crisis is vital… but what happens after the crisis is over? And what can we do to bolster ourselves before the inevitable strikes again?

We can get creative.

Dr Marion Piper (aka Dr Maz) is a writer, speaker and creativity coach on a mission to have a more hopeful and optimistic conversation about trauma.

Because what doesn’t kill us doesn’t make us stronger – it makes us more creative.

Start here…

  • Are you struggling to start, continue or finish creative work? Get accountability, inspiration and practical support to turn creating into a daily habit of growth and self-expression.

  • Are you and your crew feeling flat, uninspired or disengaged? A group workshop with Dr Maz will breathe life back into the workday to keep your best talent sticking around.

  • Master the art of self-reflection. Learn how to start a conversation with yourself to handle your fears, dreams and unhinged life experiences with confidence.

I’m unafraid to tackle the more uncomfortable aspects of what happens AFTER you get the urge to create – we’re talking grief, obsession, trauma and much, much more.

It’s like a pep talk that both stings and soothes in equal measure…

“There’s never been a better time to get creative. Even though it feels like the world is one big dumpster fire and there’s no point to any of it, let me tell you: it’s the small things that make the biggest difference. Understanding post-traumatic growth and activating it by getting creative is how you move the needle. The best part? You’re not alone anymore. I’m here and we’re going for broke!”
