The Finders Keepers Creative Business Summit
You know those times when you see an event advertised and you just KNOW you need to be part of it? That’s how I felt when I saw that Australia’s leading design market folk, The Finders Keepers, were hosting a Creative Business Summit in Melbourne in March 2023 at The Edge, Federation Square. These were my people: creative, ambitious, savvy and welcoming. I had to find a way to get involved.
I sent TFK a pitch email explaining why I simply MUST contribute to the success of the event and, without missing a beat, they absolutely agreed! I accepted the challenge of hosting a panel event with three of their brilliant market stallholders all about collaboration and community – one of my very favourite topics. They introduced me to Pete Cromer, Shuh Lee and Esther Sandler from Togetherness, and we met via Zoom to plan out how the panel would go down.
When the day finally arrived, it was like a high school reunion (in the most welcoming and familiar way). The Finders Keepers create such an inclusive market environment that I knew the Summit would create a similar vibe. Joined by MC for the day Kaylene Langford from Startup Creative, and fellow panel host Fiona Killackey from My Daily Business, I had the absolute best time on stage talking to Pete, Shuh and Esther, as well as meeting new friends in the breaks.
My participation in the Summit has also lead to more collaboration with TFK, including a Masterclass all about melting creative blocks in their Small Talks online series.
